Former Hearts of Oak striker, Kofi Kordzi has arrived in Ghana following his contract expiration at Qatari side, Muaither Fc. The 26 year old joined Muaither Fc last year for transfer fee of $150,000 following his impressive two years stint at Accra Hearts of Oak, however Kordzi struggled to hit the ground running in Qatar after his 22 appearances for the Qatari outfit produced meagre 8 goals. With Muaither's decision to decline him a contract renewal, the bulky striker is now a free agent and free to negotiate with other clubs. This has fuelled rumours about his return to the Ghana premier league 2020/21 champions.
Memories of Kofi Kordzi's spell with Hearts of Oak before his big money move is a magnificent one and the hierarchy of the Phobians may not blink twice if they have an opportunity to resign the 26 year old. After an amazing league campaign, the Phobians are looking forward to making the required preparations ahead of next season as they target a tittle defence and a fruitful campaign in the CAF champions league. Speaking about plans for next season, Hearts of Oak board member, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe stated that, " those we think are definately good for us will be maintained and we will go to CAF and come out with flying colours". This hints the the club's intent to fight harder next season.
Nonetheless, the CAF qualification apparently mean they would be playing more matches compared to the just ended campaign and would have to increase their squad depth to cope with demanding task. Resigning Unattached Kofi Kordzi could prove to be a prudent business by virtue of him being a free agent. His undoubted quality will surely give the Phobian armoury a further face lift
